Trying out our new rep
Friday, July 27th, 2007We knew Stratagene had hired a new rep for our territory. Not because we had met the new one but because the old one let us know he was leaving. Would we like the new rep? Would he help us out?
The lab Taq supply was dwindling down and I couldn’t decide if it was worth my time calling to get a quote. After hemming and hawing for a couple of days, I finally made the call Thursday. I explained to Jeff that the previous rep had given us a discount on Taq and I was wondering if he could match the old pricing. He seemed quite concerned he wouldn’t be able to match it but said he’d talk to his manager and get back to me in the next day or so.
To my surprise, a few hours later I had a quote in my inbox and the pricing was great! The order has not been placed yet. Tuesday is our ordering day. Come Wednesday though and Jeff will see an order from us for a few thousands dollars. He came through for us with the quote and I’ll get that order placed for him.
Sales reps that follow through on what they say they’ll do… those are the ones we send our business to!
